1000 Black Voices
partnering with ITV

13 July 2020 London 1000 Black Voices today announced that they are featured as one of the supporting organisations on ITV’s Black voices campaign https://www.itv.com/blackvoices/.  The ITV Black Voices was created to give Black people a platform to share experiences, stories and ultimately to educate.  The ITV campaign features short clips of celebrities and public figures talking about their experiences.

ITV selected 1000 Black Voices to support their diversity and inclusion initiative due to their shared belief that sharing stories can act as a catalyst for change. This is evidenced by both of their Black Voices campaigns.

As the ITV campaign was launching, 1000 Black Voices were doing their own campaign independently and unrelated to ITV. 1000 Black Voices share storiesfrom around the world with a call to action for the eradication of racism. The 1000 Black Voices campaign features short video clips of Black peopletalking about their experiences, heritage and their aspirations for an equitable society. Voicing lived experiences helps to raise the awareness of racism in all its forms. Understanding generated through 1000 Black Voices stories helps create equitable connections, inclusion and belonging.

1000 Black Voices are proud to be supporting ITV.“We are delighted to be working with ITV,” said Dr Elizabeth Shaw, Founder, 1000 Black Voices. “Supporting such an esteemed UK channel strengthens the anti-racism work we do with individuals, organisations and communities around the world.”
